This distinctive Japanese water basin is hand carved from natural silver grey granite featuring a square hole and oriental caligraphy on the upper face.
It is designed in the shape of an ancient Japanese coin and the hole allowed the coins to be strung together for safe keeping.
Legend says that the engraved text reads Only need enough money, and means Too much is an Evil !
