Japanese Waiting arbour

Description

Our Japanese Waiting arbour is the ideal small structure for your oriental garden.  Combine this with a traditional water basin arrangement and stone lantern to create the most attractive corner in your garden.  In Japan, the host would invite guests to wait in the arbour until the tea master has prepared the ceremony and is ready to receive the guests.

They are constructed from chunky profile softwood timber stained dark brown, durable panel walls finished in a sandstone textured masonry paint, timber plank floor and the roof clad in Canadian Cedar shingles.  The simple bench is made from a ‘waney edge’ green Oak plank and one of the front support posts is always a natural tree trunk to add authenticity.  The structure sits on natural granite ‘pad-stones’ to keep the arbour off damp ground.   To complete, we can add an open window with decorative bamboo cane trim.

A typical Arbour is usually 2.40 meters long x 1.20 meters wide, but can be made in any dimension to suit the space in your garden.

Expect to pay around £4,000 ex-works for a Waiting arbour such as the one shown. We can arrange to deliver and install the Arbour at additional cost.
