Description
Acer palmatum Orange Dream produces it’s leaves later than most meaning it is less susceptible to be damaged during cold spells in early spring. Leaves appear orange, quickly turning yellow with orange-tinged tips. In the summer the leaves change to various shades of green with reddish tips before returning to a bright yellow colour shortly before losing its leaves in autumn. Acer palmatum Orange Dream grows into an upright, bushy shrub with the potential to grow to around 4m tall.
Japanese maples are deciduous and therefore drop their leaves in winter.
Acer palmatum Orange Dream grows well in partial shade. Japanese maples do not like to be dry or waterlogged, they thrive best when the soil around is kept moist. The Acer will grow as an upright shaped tree or shrub.
