Our Teppatsugata Japanese water basin is a popular variation of the Tetsu Bachi stone basin. This basin carved from silver grey granite is more spherical in shape than a Tetsu bachi and some say that it resembles the Alms bowl of Mendicanten monks.
At present we only offer this style water basin in 45 cm diameter and the exterior surface is bush hammered ; a uniform, light stipple texture.

To make this water basin work you are likely to need a small water feature kit , a 50 cm upright bamboo water spout, a bamboo water Ladle & rest, and traditional kneeling stones. One of our 60 cm diameter Snow lanterns set beside the water basin, or a taller lantern such as an Oribe behind the stone bowl would look very attractive. For more details on what is required to make a water feature work please see our how to..set up a water feature guide sheet.
