Ophiopogon minor

Category:

Description

Ophiopogon japnicus ‘minor’, also known as mondo grass, is an interesting small evergreen plant. The plant forms dense tufts of green grass-like leaves. Occasionally in summer, they can produce small bell-shaped white flowers followed by dark berries

Ophiopogon has the best effect when planted in groups. Plant apart so that when they spread they do not compete for space with each other and create the effect that they are one large plant. If you want this effect from day one you can plant them closer together. Due to their low growing habit, they are great as ground cover planting or used as undercover planting beneath a tall Japanese Acer.
