Ground Cover Plants

Ground cover is a term that is used to describe low growing, dense covering evergreen plants. Their purpose is to cover an area quickly to suppress weed growth. They require lots of water, especially in dry spells.

At our Nursery

Due to changing stock we do not sell our ground cover plants online. Please get in touch with us if you require more information about the plants we currently stock. The following are some examples of the plants we stock:

 
Pachysanda Terminalis 
  • This plant can thrive exposed to the sun or in shaded areas.
  • Grows to 20cm high and spreads.
  • White flower during the summer.
Cotoneaster micro ‘Streibs Findling’
  • Evergreen, grows flat
  • Small leaf face
  • Can tolerate sun or shaded areas.
Cotoneaster Dammeri
  • Evergreen, flat growing up to 3-40cm high
  • 2cm diameter leaf
  • Fruits red berries
Ophiopogon minor
  • Evergreen
  • Narrow green leaves
  • 8-10cm high
  • Recommend 9-11 per m2
Juniperus Communis ‘green carpet’
  • Prefers full sun exposure
  • flat growing, approx. 1min ten years.
