Howard Healey leads our family-run business, bringing years of passion and expertise to every aspect of The Japanese Garden Centre. Since 1993, we have proudly offered design and landscaping services, and a unique destination where visitors can explore a carefully curated collection of Japanese garden materials and plants.
Our centre was thoughtfully designed to provide a welcoming and inspiring environment, allowing gardeners of all levels to discover the beauty and serenity of Japanese garden design. From tranquil courtyard gardens to our central Japanese water garden, every display is designed to inspire creativity and bring a sense of harmony to your garden. Whether you are planning a complete Japanese garden or simply seeking a special feature, we aim to help you create a peaceful, elegant outdoor sanctuary that reflects the timeless artistry of Japan.
Howard attended a seminar at the Research Center for Japanese Garden Art in Kyoto, Japan and the experience re-affirmed his long held commitment to provide Europe’s most comprehensive Japanese garden service. His experience in Japan forged his belief that the tranquillity of Japanese gardens can have a positive influence on his clients’ lives back in the UK.

Japanese gardens can be enjoyed throughout the seasons because the majority of plants used are evergreen and provide year-round structure and interest. Our small team will work with you from concept to creation, ensuring that our creative vision isn’t compromised. We have built gardens ranging in size from 2 square metres up to 1.5 acres.
