Our attractive Maitreya is hand carved in silver grey granite and is approx. 50cm tall.
This finely carved stone statue represents Maitreya, the future Buddha, who is believed in Japanese Buddhist tradition to descend to Earth and usher in an age of peace and enlightenment. Known in Japan as Miroku Bosatsu, Maitreya symbolizes hope, renewal, and the promise of universal salvation. Such statues have long held cultural and spiritual significance, often placed in temples or gardens as contemplative objects that inspire patience, compassion, and faith in a harmonious future.
