Description
The Pergoda Japanese stone lantern, hand carved from natural silver grey granite in 13 pieces, is one of the most attractive of all our oriental lanterns. These lanterns are also known by the name Go Ju No Tou and represent traditional Pergoda Temples with tiered roofs.
They always feature 5 intricately carved light boxes and 5 elegant roofs, all carved to the highest quality. Despite their height and total weight, they are very easy to handle as none of the individual pieces is heavy. Total number of pieces is 13. You can leave the pieces sitting freely on top of each other. If you live in a particularly windy area or you are worried about children or animals knocking into the lantern you can stick the pieces together using a clear, outdoor adhesive such as Stixall.
Pergoda lanterns are versatile in a Japanese garden setting as they can be a strong focal point on their own, or positioned with a simple stone grouping and a Japanese Maple.
Please ask our advice on how best to light this style lantern. Our unique low voltage Lantern light and light diffusers are not suitable for this ornament.
Although the lantern is made up of 13 pieces, the individual pieces are heavy for the 180cm and 220cm lanterns. The lid pieces especially needs at least 2 people to safely lift.
